Dressing up a White Tee

I love wearing white t-shirts with eye catching accessories.  Solange’s look from April of last year was the perfect example of how I like to wear white tees.  She was in a Splendid tee, Maki Oh lace trimmed high slit skirt (which was gorgeous!) ,and shoes by Christian Louboutin. Her accessories- a clutch by Lie Sang Bong and a Mawi of London Pyramid Necklace-were super cute as well.  This look is so effortless and that’s what I love the most about it.  Though she wore it last year, it’s still very on-trend with the black and white trend craze for spring 2013.  So, I did my own take on Solange’s outfit and paired a white tee with a black lace skirt, ankle strap wedges, a statement necklace (that I hardly get to wear), and I traded in the green clutch for a pink one.  And to complete the look, I just had to have the curly hair!!!

OLDIES: Big Buddha Wayne Western Boots

Beyonce posted this picture last year on her website.  She's wearing a yellow top, black peplum skirt, and some awesome Big Buddha Wayne Western boots! I love the crossbody bag she added with it because even though it's not the same exact print as the boots, the colors are the same so it works.  I also love that she decided to go with a yellow top to bring out the yellow in the boots.

Well, as soon as I saw Beyonce in these boots, I wanted them....the EXACT PAIR (no knockoffs) and I did not care how much they were going to cost.  Lucky for me, they only costed me $80 at Zappo's (and shipping was free!!!!).  Since purchasing them in September, I've worn them about fifty million times with everything from leggings to a dress to a sleeveless fur vest!  This time, I took inspiration from Beyonce's black and peplum and decided to pair my boots with black Levi's and a burgundy peplum top from Alloy.

Easter Egg Blue Peplum Dress

I saw Rosario Dawson in this Antonio Berardi gown for the Golden Globes back in January.  I immediately loved it simply because of the color, which happens to be my favorite color.  I don't get to wear it often because light blue is hard to come by in clothing.  I have to say I don't love the shoulders on Rosario's gown, but I don't hate them either.  (Most of the reviews on this dress were negative because of the fit of the gown on her.)  Honestly, I only love this dress for the color (which reminds me of Easter because of the pastel) and the peplum waist.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to find a light blue peplum dress to wear for Easter....and I found one!!!
